Free art program held at various York City parks & housing communities.

Open to ages 6-16.

Monday-Friday, 6:30 pm-7:30 pm.

Summer Library Program

YorkArts will be offering three different hands-on workshops at libraries across the county, encouraging kids ages 8 – 15 to Be Creative @ Your Library! Registration is required for all listed programs, as space is limited. Just sign up at the library where you plan to attend.

Meet Matisse
Learn about Henri Matisse and his use of shapes, colors, and composition. Students will create a paper cut out design and mixed media design of their own influenced by Matisse.

Reflections
Young artists discover crayon resist and create a design using crayon and tempera paint. The elements of art will be discussed in this session.

Gardening with O’Keeffe
Artists will create an abstract garden using Georgia O'Keeffe as their inspiration. Students will use watercolors and markers to create their garden.  Budding artists will learn about realistic and abstract art.
